Good-byes...

Its the beginning of the 2006 transfer season and the start of many good-byes. Our first good-bye came way too soon if you ask me! The Martin family is moving on to greener pastures in North Carolina. Mike will be taking the EPO job at a station and that is something that will help him further his Coast Guard career! The Martins (Mike, Holly, Nova, and Gunner) have been through a lot in the last year: A 3 month deployment to Cuba, The birth of Gunner in June, and then... Katrina where they lost everything and had to start from scratch. Let me tell you they are one adaptable family! I am not sure I could recover so quickly and with such a positive outlook as they have.

Anyways, We ventured up to Meridian to say our good byes to Holly and the kids this past weekend (Mike is on a deployment with Brandon). We had a blast hanging out and just being girlfriends! Our kids had fun playing together and we all had fun at the park, dog piling on the bed, enjoying the night around the firepit, and dancing to the radio with our kids! Memories I will keep with me forever! Good-bye time was so hard and so sad. We all were crying, ok the kids weren't crying for once but Leia, Holly, and I sure were! Good-byes stink! But I realized is as much as I hated to say good-bye to Holly she has given me a gift. Friendship. I wouldn't be sad if she wasn't such a wonderful friend! My tears are proof of that gift! (Ahhhhhhhh just great! Now I am crying again!) But through all of the tears I really am so happy and excited that her and her family get to move on especially with all that they have been through. They found a brand new house that they are buying and I know that must be so exciting for them! Mike, Holly, Nova bear, and Gunner man, we will miss you guys and will never forget the impact you have had in our lives and in our hearts! Happy trails!
